Crews trained in roof operations at the acquired structure this past Monday. BC57 and Captain 75 reviewed required tools to take to the roof and the reasons for vertical ventilation. An emphasis was placed on coordination with the engine company inside so that ventilation didn't make conditions worse for crews and civilians. Crews rotated between 2 stations on different roofs and practiced setting ladders, carrying tools to the roof, sounding the roof, effective cutting of a vent hole and removing ceilings below. After, all crews checked and cleaned the tools and returned them to service. Being a firefighter isn't always about putting out fires, rescues, or saving lives. Sometimes it is taking care of someone's pet.
This little one was found at the Univest Bank on Rt 663 across from Wawa near the Turnpike. Members received the page for the animal and immediately reacted to help out. This little one was taken safely to Quakertown Vet Clinic located at 2250 N Old Bethlehem Pike, Quakertown. Please share this so the owner and pet can be reunited for the holidays! ...
